of the Future Awards:
For applicants interested in the field of
broadcasting.
17. Harry Jerome Scholarships:
For black African and black Caribbean
students.
18. Harry R. Gairey Sr. Scholarship Fund:
For students who have a GPA of at least
80% and have a demonstrated service in the
African-Canadian community.
19. John Gyles Education Fund:
For students with a minimum GPA of 2.7.
20. Lincoln M. Alexander Award Program:
For students who have demonstrated
leadership in eliminating racial discrimination.
21. Marion Drysdale Awards:
For students with excellent ranking in
the Marion Drysdale contest in writing and creative
arts.
22. Mensa Canada Scholarship Programme:
For prospective students in a Canadian
institute of higher education with well written essays
describing their career plans and goals, etc.
23. Millennium Scholarships Excellence
Awards:
For students with outstanding academic
and leadership excellence.
24. Millennium Scholarships Bursary
Program:
For Canadian university students with
demonstrable financial need.
25. Miller Thomson Foundation
Scholarship:
For graduating students moving on to
post-secondary education with good extra-curricular
activities.
26. Minds in Motion Awards Program:
For graduating high school students with
a demonstrated learning disability.
27: Ontario Medal for Young Volunteers:
For students with with contribution
without pay to charity organizations and a good
volunteering record.
28: The Ontario Volunteer Service Awards:
For students with demonstrated volunteer
activity.
29: TD Canada Trust Scholarships for
Outstanding Community Leadership:
For students across Canada who are in
their final year of high school or in CEGEP (for Quebec)
and who have demonstrated leadership and academic
excellence to attend a university or college.
30: Terry Fox Humanitarian Award:
For undergraduates and high school
students with involvement in voluntary humanitarian
work.
31: Vedic Cultural Centre Scholarships:
For students who have at least one parent
of South Asian or Indo-Caribbean descent and who have a
minimum average of 80% in his/her best 6 courses.
32: Wayne & Walter Gretzky Scholarship:
For blind or visually impaired applicants
who have graduated from secondary school and are
entering their first year of post-secondary education.
33: Wendy's Classic:
For students who are outstanding
achievers..
34: Achiever Scholarships:
For applicants with an academic
achievement of 70% or higher and with at least one
extra-curricular activity.
The list above is a list of
Canadian Scholarships that are available in all
Canadian provinces and territories:
Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba,
New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Northwest Territories, Nova Scotia,
Nunavut, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, Saskatchewan, and Yukon Territory.
The list includes mostly university scholarships, but
also some
high school scholarships.
Note that the list includes scholarships for
undergraduate and graduate (MA/PhD) students, and also
some Canadian scholarships for international students,
too. Though the list was prepared in 2007, it is
expected (but not guaranteed) to hold for 2008, too.

universities/colleges provide funding in the form of
merit- and need-based scholarships or fellowships to
