Hi, all. A little anxious here, hoping someone may be able to shed some light on my situation.
I'm currently a first-year student at York University, Keele Campus, in the BA Psychology program. I initially enrolled at York because I was planning to major in psychology, and minor in music (jazz bass, specifically). However, I had to come to the conclusion that if I was to study both, I would only be putting in half the effort for each. And while I love music, I realized that I can study music outside of post-secondary institutions, but can't with psychology. And getting a psychology degree is what feels right at this time.
I am not taking psychology because I could not think of another major. I'm genuinely obsessed with psychological theories, namely Jungian personality theories and cognitive neuroscience. Psychology is my passion, my life. I read the text book last year for fun.
I applied for a transfer to University of Toronto, Scarborough campus. I was accepted last year, but took the York offer, and now I applied again. The psychology program at UTSC is absolutely phenomenal, possibly the best in the province, if not the country, from what I hear. The professors are amazing lecturers, and their research fields interest me much more than those at York.
My questions is regarding the quality of the program, as well as how my grades drop. At York, my grades range from low-80s to low-90s, much better than I ever did in high school. So I am wondering how much my grades may drop if I do transfer to UTSC. Granted, I am very dedicated, and do not mind spending my weekends studying.
Two questions: Is the program good? Will my grades likely drop out of the A-range (and if so, by how much)? _________________ Sui generis |
