Okay, so I just found out that Ryerson's architecture program is now accredited.

http://www.cacb-ccca.ca/index.cfm?Voir=sections&Id=8355&M=1357&Repertoire_No=660386109
I was wondering if doing an architecture undergrad a good idea? I know I want to become an architect but I heard from some that it's unnecessary?
Also as a side note I've been told that Ryerson is a crap university but I've also been told that their architecture program is exceptional. I don't think I'll be accpeted for McGill and UofT's architecture program has gained quite a bit of notoriety so I don't believe that's an option as well. Waterloo's program is located in Cambridge for some ridiculous reason and I really don't want to that secluded for so long. I live in the GTA and can get there through public transit so I can save on tuition in the long run. So basically what I'm asking is if Ryerson would be a good choice for me?
Thanks in advance
PS: Ryerson says that you can have either calculus or advanced functions to be accepted, will I need calculus? |

Ryerson architecture program is an excellent arch program in canada.
you can learn lots of pratical things in school. Many TO and OAA architects
told me that they prefer to hire Ryerson architecutre grads rather than other
arch schools in Canada. By the way, you can find out the Ontario GPA 2011 admission for universities...the ave GPA for Ryerson is 81.9. U of T is 84. York U is 80.5....so do u think ryerson is a crap university? And the ave GPA for entering Ryerson architecture program is 86. So I think Ryerson will be a good choice for you. |
